Waliullah Bhuiyan is the CEO and the founder of Light of Hope which is shaping the education of Bangladesh. He started Light of Hope in 2016 and from one person it becomes 50+ persons and have an impact over 100000+ people in Bangladesh and also globally. Waliullah Bhuiyan has more than 10 years’ experience in education, sanitation, climate change and worked with different organizations and companies.
He also worked with NGO like BRAC, that was his starting of a professional career. Waliullah Bhuiyan worked with the direct management of BRAC and also handled a multi-billion projects while working there.
Waliullah Bhuiyan is a strong believer in innovation and efficiency to bring a change in the world. Waliullah Bhuiyan started Light of Hope because he believes that it is our responsibility to prepare our future generation so that they can make a change in the education system in the future. He always focuses on creativity. His main idea behind the Light of Hope was to serve education to the people who cannot afford it.
Light of Hope become a social enterprise from a charity. It helps children to develop future skills through a diverse range of services. Within these 4 years Light of Hopes achieving success and it’s targeting nationally and also globally.
Waliullah Bhuiyan won the Unilever young entrepreneur award of 2018 for the educational startup “Light of Hope”. He won the award for developing a solar-run multimedia classroom that fits in a back-pack ‘the Sputnique’. This helps teachers to take classes in multiple places from a central location.
Today it is proving better education to 75000 children in Bangladesh. This amazing idea came to Waliullah’s mind while he was working for an NGO and was helping farmers who lost their crops and health to make awareness. In that period of time, he was struggling to carry the kit for the awareness program and thought to make a sputnique. After two years of research and development sputnique was born. Now it is run by Waliullah Bhuiyan and his 3 co-founders and 30 full-time employees. They are proving education to 75000 children in Bangladesh.
Light if Hope is also in partnership with UNICEF, UNESCO and save the children; these organizations are providing help and giving access to products which these children can’t get easily. By this; children will get engaging, interesting and fun experience education. For Light of Hope’s amazing work, Lights of Hope has been achieving awards such as the Jolkona Catalyst Program-Social Entrepreneur Award in 2015, Spark International Changemaker-Bangladesh Chapter Award in 2016, and Energy Globe National Award in 2016.
Waliullah Bhuiyan has also achieved the title for the ‘innovators under 35 of 2016’ and also dell education challenge winner 2013. Waliullah Bhuiyan wants to make education fun and a better generation for a brighter future and he is achieving his goal through Light of Hope. Light of House always believes that schooling is like cooking and their aim is to provide a great taste of school using the same ingredients. Their aim is also making the teachers skilled and passionate.
